The founder of Buddhism in Gaya, Lord Buddha had received knowledge, due to this, this place is considered to be one of the city's most famous places. Gaya is the most popular religious place in the whole state. Earlier this city was a part of Magadha and it is 100 km from the south of Patna Is located at a distance. This place is sacred place for all religions.Gaya is one of the important pilgrim centers in Bihar. This city is famous for its especially Hindu pilgrims. Here the Vishnupad temple is popular among tourists. According to fables, this temple has been built on the footprint of Lord Vishnu. In this Hindu temple, this temple has a very important place. Gaya is also famous for patriotism. It is said that here on the banks of the river Phalgu, the dead person gets the backbone after pandatting.


Gaya is an important city in central Bihar, which is situated on the west bank of the river Ganga, the river Falgu. It is located 13 kilometers north of Bodhgaya and 100 kilometers south of capital Patna. The weather here is mixed. There is a lot of heat here during the summer and there is average winter in the cold days. Monsoon also has a widespread impact on the weather here. But here in the rainy season the view is quite interesting.


It is said that while destroying a monster named Gaysur, the letters of Lord Vishnu came in here, which can still be seen in the Vishnupad temple.

By Road:-

The international airport is located in Gaya, from where many countries and states fly regularly. Gaya city is also connected to the airport, Colombo and Bangkok.


History:-

Gaya is also mentioned in epic Ramayana. Gaya was an important city during the Maurya period. During the excavation, the order related to Emperor Ashoka has been found. In the medieval period this city was under the Mughal 
emperors. At that time, Rajputs had the right to some places in this area. Jinnah and Sarthur were the Rajput chief. After the fall of the Mughal period, many regional kings ruled. In 1787, Empress Ahilyabai, the empress of the Holkar dynasty, rebuilt the Vishnupad temple.

Vishnupad Temple

Located on the western side of the river Falgu, this temple is very popular among tourists. It is said that this temple was built on the footprints of Lord Vishnu. This temple is 30 meters high, with eight pillars. These pillars have silver layers climbing. In the sanctum sanctorum of the temple, Lord Vishnu has 40 centimeter foot marks. This temple was renovated in 1787 by Empress Ahilya Bai of Indore. On the occasion of Paternity, there is a lot of devotees gathering here.

Jama Masjid

Jama Masjid, which is in Delhi, is different, behind the Bod Bhawan temple, there is a Masjid called Jam Masjid, Bihar is not the largest mosque. It's about 200 years old. Thousands of people can pray with it

 bitho sharif

It is a holy religious place situated on the Patna road, 10 km away from the main city. Here, in the new century Hijri, the famous Sufi saint Hazrat Makhdum Syed Sarvash Ashraf of the Chashti Ashrafi Silsile founded the Khankah Ashrafia. Even today, Shraddha comes from all over India to visit here. Each year, on the 10th of the Islamic month Shaban, the Urs of Hazrat Makhdum Syed Sarvash Sarvesh Ashraf is celebrated.

Banabar (equal) mountain

Located approximately 10 kilometers east of Belanganj, about 20 km north of Gaya. On this it is the temple of Lord Shiva, where water flows in the month of thousands of pilgrims in the month of Bhawan. It is said that this temple was built by Banasur. This very ancient Shiva temple is situated in the Maine village along the Morhar river. Every year there seems to be a fair in Shivaratri. To reach here, about 30 km north of Patna-Gaya from Gaya has to be known as Piibgah problem from Makhdumpur. There is a direct bus service to Piibiga from Gaya. It is approximately 2 km from Piigihaha.

Sun temple

The Sun Temple is located 20 kilometers north of the famous Vishnupad temple and 3 kilometers from the railway station. This temple dedicated to Lord Sun is situated on the banks of the Son River. Six days after Deepawali, there is a tremendous crowd of pilgrims on the occasion of popular festival of Chhath in Bihar. A fair is also held here on this occasion.


Brahmony mountain

To climb the top of this hill, 440 steps have to be crossed. On its peak is the temple of Lord Shiva. This temple is situated under the huge banyan tree where pindada is done. This place has also been mentioned in the Ramayana. Falgya river flows over this hill, if believed to be the fables. But with the influence of the curse of Goddess Sita, this river now flows under the hill. This hill is one of the most sacred shrines for the Hindus. It is near Maranpur.

Mangala Gauri


This temple situated on the hill is dedicated to Mother Shakti. This place is one of 18 Mahashaktipithas. It is believed that whatever is done here, the desire of their mind is fulfilled. The temple of Mother Kali, Ganesh, Hanuman and Lord Shiva is situated in the same temple.
